e-tractions Taps Director

e-tractions, a Bedford, Mass., Internet marketing startup, has named Hal Shear, a veteran financial and management advisor, to its board of directors.

Shear, founder of Research Investment Advisors, will work with e-tractions executives to create a greater valuation and build the company.

"Hal's impressive track record and experience advising and managing accelerating businesses' growth patterns was exactly what we were looking for in a director," said Michael Gauthier, e-traction's president and CEO.

Shear currently serves on the board at four companies: InsiteOne, DriverSide, Roll Systems and CAPV, and is advisor to the CEO of Archer Development.

Additionally, Shear is chairman of the New England and the Silicon Valley Chapters of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), a professional association of directors concerned with issues of corporate governance. He has also been a guest lecturer at Babson College's MBA program.

"e-tractions has continually impressed me with their creativity and business acumen," Shear said. "I am very excited to be a part of the company at a time when there is solid momentum and exciting ventures on the horizon."

Privately held e-tractions was founded in August 1999 by executives with experience in the Internet, entertainment, health care and information technology fields.
